Article Preparation Guide

Language:
The journal publishes articles in Turkish and English. Submissions must be prepared in one of these languages.

Article Types:
The journal accepts original research articles, review articles, case reports, and letters to the editor. Authors are encouraged to use concise and clear language to enhance the effective dissemination of their work.

Manuscript and Visual Format:

  • Manuscript files must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (DOC or DOCX).
  • Visual materials should be uploaded in JPEG or PNG format.

Citation Style:
All articles must adhere to APA 7 (American Psychological Association, 7th edition) citation style. Click here for detailed information.

Author Changes:
Requests for addition, removal, or reordering of authors can only be made before the manuscript is accepted. Therefore, authors must carefully review and finalize the author list prior to submission.

Writing Guidelines:

  1. All submissions must comply with the journal’s editorial and writing guidelines.
  2. The manuscript should be structured as follows:
    • Turkish Title, Turkish Abstract, Turkish Keywords
    • English Title, English Abstract, English Keywords
    • Introduction, Main Text, Conclusion, Extended Abstract in English, and References
    • Original research articles should be between 5,000 and 10,000 words.
    • Book reviews and PhD dissertation summaries should be between 2,500 and 7,500 words in each language.
    • Exceeding these limits is subject to the editorial board’s discretion.
  1. At submission:
    • A Turkish abstract (175–300 words) and an English abstract (175–300 words) must be included.
    • At least five Turkish and five English keywords must be provided.
  2. Manuscripts must be prepared according to the article template provided on the journal’s website. Click here for the sample template.
  3. Page layout:
    • Margins: minimum 2.5 cm
    • Line spacing: 1.0
    • Paragraph spacing: 0 pt before, 6 pt after
    • Font: Gentium Plus, main text size 9.5 pt
    • First line of paragraphs indented by 0.50 cm
  4. Headings:
    • Main title: 12 pt
    • Abstract, Keywords, Citation Information: 10 pt
    • Introduction, Conclusion, References, and first-level headings: 10.5 pt
    • Second- and third-level headings: 10 pt
    • Main text: 9.5 pt
  5. The Extended Abstract (700–1000 words) is mandatory for manuscripts written in Turkish. For English manuscripts, the Turkish extended abstract is optional.
  6. Turkish texts must comply with the current spelling rules of the Turkish Language Association (TDK).

Final Checklist:

  • The Writing Guidelines, Ethical Principles and Publication Policies have been read.
  • The article has been formatted according to the "Article Template".
  • Author Information Form, Copyright Transfer Agreement, and Ethics Statement Form have been completed and signed.
  • The manuscript is in MS Word format, and spelling/grammar checks have been performed.
  • Turkish and English titles have been fully provided.
  • A plagiarism report from Turnitin or iThenticate has been attached.
  • References have been formatted in accordance with journal guidelines.
  • Tables include captions above them.
  • Figures include descriptions below them.
  • Any conflict of interest information has been fully disclosed.

Author Information:

  • Name, Surname, Title
  • Email Address
  • Institutional Affiliation (e.g., university, faculty)
  • Phone Number

Note: Due to the double-blind peer-review process, no identifying information (e.g., author names or affiliations) should be included in the manuscript file.

Author Declarations Required at Submission:

  1. I confirm that I am authorized to submit this manuscript and have obtained authorization from all co-authors.
  2. The manuscript is original; it has not been published or submitted elsewhere for review.
  3. If accepted, the article will be published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
  4. Authors are responsible for protecting copyright and intellectual property rights.
  5. I confirm that the study contains no unlawful content or criminal elements and that it complies with legal regulations.

Authors’ Roles and Responsibilities

Authorship and Contributions:
Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the conceptualization, design, execution, or interpretation of the study should be listed as authors. Those with minor contributions should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section. The corresponding author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript. Author changes are only allowed under exceptional circumstances and prior to manuscript acceptance with editor approval.

Manuscript Writing and Originality:
Original research must be presented in an objective and transparent manner, with sufficient detail to allow reproducibility. Fraudulent or intentionally misleading statements constitute serious ethical misconduct.

Citation and Use of Sources:
All sources must be properly cited. Information obtained through personal communication must not be used without written permission from the source.

Data Access and Retention:
Authors must provide access to research data for editorial review if requested and preserve data for a reasonable period post-publication. Open data sharing is encouraged via the TUBITAK's Aperta Portal.

Multiple or Concurrent Publication:
Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical.

Studies Involving Surveys or Interviews:
For studies requiring ethics committee approval, the relevant information and documentation must be clearly stated in the manuscript.

Conflict of Interest:
All sources of financial support and potential conflicts of interest must be explicitly disclosed. If there is no funding, this should also be stated.

Error Notification:
Authors are obliged to notify the editor promptly if a significant error is discovered in their published work and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions.

Integrity of Visual Materials:
Visual materials must not be manipulated in a misleading way and must accurately reflect the presented data.

  • Manuscript Submission and Revision: Author 1 (90%), Author 2 (10%)
