Ethics Principles and Policies

Publication Ethics Principles

Publication ethics is defined as a self-regulation mechanism based on the principle of integrity, aimed at ensuring high editorial standards for authors, reviewers, and publishers. The standards of publication ethics guarantee high-quality scientific publications, public trust in scientific findings, and respect for individual opinions. Compliance with publication ethics safeguards the reputation of the scientific community and prevents unethical behavior.

Since 2021, Journal of Türkiye Media Academy has continued its publications, committing to adhere to the highest national and international publication ethics standards. To achieve these standards, the journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA)World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Publication Ethics Principles for Authors

Journal of Türkiye Media Academy is committed to national and international ethical standards, fully complying with press laws, intellectual property rights, and publication ethics guidelines.

Duplicate Publication

Publishing the same or largely similar articles in multiple journals constitutes an ethical violation. In such cases, editors may return the article without review and impose a temporary embargo on the author. Furthermore, authors who engage in duplicate publication may be publicly identified.

Simultaneous Submission

Authors are prohibited from submitting the same article to multiple journals simultaneously. If simultaneous submission is detected, editors will take the necessary precautions, inform other editors, and may reject the article submission.

In cases of concerns about misuse by the authors, the editors may issue an expression of concern.

Surveys and Interviews-Based Studies

For all research requiring ethical committee approval, informed consent from participants must be obtained. These approvals and documents must be specified in the relevant article. Ethical committee approval is required for research involving surveys, interviews, focus group studies, observations, experiments, and interviews using either qualitative or quantitative approaches, including but not limited to:
