Abstract

This study aims to explore the cultural and communicative reflections of artificial intelligence within cinematographic narrative. In today’s rapidly digitalizing societies, artificial intelligence is not only a technical innovation but also a transformative cultural force that reshapes individuals’ emotional worlds, societal norms, and collective values. From this perspective, cinema is approached not merely as an aesthetic form of artistic expression but as a medium where cultural change, social transformation, and futuristic predictions are rendered visible. The research adopts the descriptive analysis method and selects Spike Jonze’s 2013 film Her as a case study, since it offers a striking example of how artificial intelligence can redefine emotional experiences and cultural concepts.

The film highlights the emotional dimension of human-machine interaction by focusing on themes such as love, loneliness, belonging, and identity. The relationship between Theodore and the advanced operating system Samantha illustrates that personal experiences can be reconstructed not only in biological or social contexts but also through digital and artificial intelligence-driven platforms.

Findings indicate that artificial intelligence reshapes the aesthetic perception of artistic production while simultaneously paving the way for the evolution of cultural values. Cinematographic elements in the film—ranging from color palette and set design to music, sound, and digital effects—collectively construct an atmosphere that aligns with the theme of artificial intelligence and deepens the viewer’s aesthetic experience. Ultimately, the study demonstrates—through the example of Her—that artificial intelligence has the capacity to reshape not only artistic aesthetics but also human emotional bonds and cultural norms.
