https://www.turkiyemedyaakademisi.com/index.php/tumader/article/view/157

While computers and the technological developments that come with them make life easier in many areas, they have also become the focal point of games and entertainment tools. Thanks to the technological developments that have developed and changed over time, traditional games have been replaced by digital games, albeit partially due to urbanization and shrinking playgrounds. In this case, the visuals in digital games have begun to affect the visual perception of the individual and reveal visual differences. This has enabled Visual Arts Education to be addressed with an approach that focuses on children's developmental characteristics, interests and talents. In accordance with the progressive education approach, the child's creativity has been supported and thus the importance of the quality of educational programs has become more apparent. The main purpose of this study is to determine the effects of visuals in digital game designs on the creativity of middle school students within the scope of art education through student opinions. A mixed research method model was chosen in the study, where quantitative and qualitative data were used together. Accordingly, the study group consisted of 100 6th and 7th grade students taking Visual Arts Course in Samsun. In the study, maximum diversity sampling, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used in terms of collecting qualitative data, and the sample consisted of 10 volunteer students selected from the study group. As a result of the study, it was revealed that digital games positively contribute to students' creative thinking, visual design and artistic development processes, but they can also cause physical discomfort. While students stated that they were especially inspired by three-dimensional realistic visuals, they stated that survival games were the most preferred genre with their tension and story elements.
Mahir Necmi Yunusoğlu

https://www.turkiyemedyaakademisi.com/index.php/tumader/article/view/133

Like a universe without borders, science constantly attracts humanity to a new corner. With the help of technology, which makes its impact not only in the field of treatment but also in the field of research and development of medicine, unique data is collected during medical studies, and vital research and evaluations are carried out on these data. The developmental capacity of every human phenomenon is researched with curiosity and examined in all its details. While the existence of a method of withdrawn boundaries supports development in the studies carried out, if a method devoid of principles is used, some rights violations and controversial ethical values may manifest themselves. While all human characteristics are precious, biological data and the process of applications that will be carried out through these data need a more protected area. Personal rights and freedoms are protected under both international and national law. Although it varies among countries, individual rights, whose framework has now been drawn, are related to the concept of "absolute value," and their legal status has been adopted. Human biological materials are at the core of new-generation health studies. Everything specific to humans used in research and studies will also share this absolute value. It is inevitable for these values to be used carefully for "human dignity," which forms the basis of global texts. Protecting personal data, which forms the backbone of the work, is accepted as the central element in the legally indisputable value structure. In this study, an evaluation will be conducted by examining current conditions in the context of digitalization, personal data, human values, and privacy.
Emine Betül Ayaz

https://www.turkiyemedyaakademisi.com/index.php/tumader/article/view/158

Today, it is possible to come across the use of drones by journalists in war journalism, which is seen as a negative news type. An example of this is the conflict between Palestine and Israel on October 7, 2023. Accordingly, the study aims to examine the images taken using drones in war journalism by considering Baudrillard's 'High Reality' sociology. The assumptions of the study are; Does drone technology, which is seen as a destructive innovation, have an effect on the news? If so, how does it affect the news? And does it cause the reality dimension of the news to be tampered with? The answers to the questions are explained based on Baudrillard's sociology. In the study, news photos regarding the war between Palestine and Israel obtained from the official website of Anadolu Agency were examined and the semiotic analysis method was used as the analysis method. As a result, in the visuals examined, the news headline and news photos are completely independent from each other and the subject is not included in the photos, mostly objects, black fog, gray dust clouds and black/white lighting are used, buildings turned into rubble with the effect of the bomb and the city plunged into darkness are displayed. If the conclusion is drawn by considering Baudrillard's sociology, it is possible to reach the conclusion that the visuals are not shown in a real understanding, the photo taken by the drone does not represent the real image, the images lose their feature of being an image and the realistic appearance of the image causes the loss of the illusionary power. In addition, since the illusion of reality and image illusion are seen in the visuals, it is possible to say that drone technology has an effect on the news as a virtual technology, and that its effect on the news is with the image image or illusion, while it is possible to conclude that the illusion of image causes the reality dimension of the news to be manipulated.
Kübra Erbayrakçı
